2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Release Date, Cost, Changes – By practically every criterion, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is a resounding success, so much so that it has allowed the V8 Mustang to continue for another generation. We adored the first Mach-E we drove last year, but Ford needed to address a few early teething problems. After spending a week with the more potent Mach-E GT recently, CarBuzz is certain that many of the issues from the earlier build models have been resolved. But is it sufficient?
The Mach-E GT enhances the formula by adding more power, better handling, and a few cosmetic changes. Although it is one of the fastest EVs under $100,000, its recent price hike may make it more difficult to sell than it was when it first came out.
2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Redesign
Exterior And Interior Design
The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is a stunning SUV, as we have previously stated and will do so again. Perhaps more successfully than Lamborghini did with the Urus, the Mustang’s design cues have been seamlessly incorporated into an SUV shape. A GT can be identified by its distinctive 20-inch wheels, black grille insert, and GT trunk insignia. Compared to the standard GT, the Performance Edition’s wheels have an entirely different spoke design, but we actually like the base model better.

This is a vehicle that can look fantastic in any color, as seen by the gorgeous Iconic Silver on the test vehicle from the previous year and the striking Cyber Orange on the GT model. Regardless of what you may think, an SUV surely draws attention, much like the original pony car does. The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E, in our opinion, is a “real” Mustang. Contact Ford if you have a problem with that.
Compared to the base Mach-E and the GT, not much has changed inside. Although the inside of the GT is brightened by copper accents, the seats hardly stand out from those of the base model. The GT Performance Edition, which is the next step up, includes bolstered sports seats that hug you more firmly and look amazing while doing so. Unfortunately, the GT Performance gets rid of the copper interior trim and replaces it with aluminum, which is duller and less noticeable.
The interior of the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is light and spacious because of the glass roof, which is now a standard feature. Although this interior is luxurious (for a Mustang), we’re not sure it feels special given the price.

When we last tested this car, the 15.5-inch touchscreen impressed us, and since then, over-the-air updates have included a larger Apple CarPlay setup and several bug improvements. Ford has also added its hands-free BlueCruise technology, which seems to be behind GM’s Super Cruise.
2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Engine
The Extended Range AWD edition of the Mach-E has the highest power, with 346 hp and 428 lb-ft. We believe that this level of performance is more than acceptable for the majority of drivers, with a 0-60 mph pace of only 4.8 seconds. The larger rear motor added when upgrading to the GT results in 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. In just 3.8 seconds, the GT reaches 60 mph thanks to this. The GT Performance Package reduces the 0-60 time to 3.5 seconds and increases torque to 634 lb-ft, if that isn’t already rapid enough (the same as a Shelby GT500). The trade-off is a reduction in range from 270 to 260 miles for the Mach-E.

The package also includes Brembo brake calipers, MagneRide suspension, and more grippy Pirelli summer tires for $6,000 less. The Mach-Ride E’s are greatly improved by the MagneRide, which also helps to smooth out the ride over bumpy roads. The suspension might be the main benefit of choosing the GT Performance Edition—possibly even more so than the performance improvements. The Mach-E GT elevates it into a vehicle that can actually make you smile. The standard Mach-E was a lovely car to drive, but the GT makes it even nicer. This vehicle is thrilling not only when traveling straight but also when negotiating turns.
2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Release Date And Price
The unfavorable aspect of our Mach-E GT review is already upon us: the recent price increase. Ford has had difficulty controlling production costs for its EV models, resulting in a nearly $8,000 price increase for the 2024 Mach-E GT over the previous model year. The base GT now costs $69,855, making it more expensive than the BMW i4 M50, which has a starting price of $67,300 and produces 536 hp. The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E costs $6,000 more if the GT Performance Package is chosen, falling just shy of the supercharged Shelby GT500 in pricing. Although not at that level, it performs.
Even with the $7,500 federal tax credit, it still seems excessive to pay nearly $76,000 for an EV without a luxury badge. The Kia EV6 GT, which charges quicker and generates more power but lacks the 2024 tax credit and can’t match the Mach-range, will be Ford’s main rival.
